Zanin Berbić

Zanin Berbić is an ethnomusicologist and interpreter of the Bosnian urban song, the Sevdalinka.
He was born in 1996 in Gradačac.
In Modriča he finished primary school, in Zenica secondary school of music and in 2019 he graduated from the Sarajevo Academy of Music, Department of Musicology and Ethnomusicology.

He has been on the road as a singer since 2013 and has had numerous performances both in Bosnia-Herzegovina and abroad.
Besides singing he masters several musical instruments, with the saz being particularly noteworthy.
His repertoire is very broad and consists mainly of rarely sung, almost forgotten songs.

He has performed with many renowned interpreters of folk music: Emina Zečaj, Beba Selimović, Zehra Deović,
Zora Dubljević, Muhamed Mujkanović, Omer Pobrić. He has performed several solo concerts and made over 200 recordings of rarely sung songs.
Some of these recordings are kept in the BHRT archives.

He is a member of the Musicology Society of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Association of Traditional Music – ICTM National Committee in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Currently, he is a master student at the Music Academy in Sarajevo.
