After the golden era of Sevdalinka in the period from the 1960s to the beginning of the 1980s followed a period of musical silence for that genre.
From 1990 until today, a whole new generation of Sevdah interpreters grew up on the domestic as well as on the international scene. Sometimes uncritically celebrated, but sometimes also massively criticized, just this generation put the Sevdah at the forefront of musical events, but also carried the word about the Bosnian-Herzegovina art scene around the world.
